I had promised my friend this portrait as wedding gift, when he got engaged. He gave me a few photographs taken by his friend, Sagar Mahapatra, for reference. Used those photographs to gather details and pose. Added a blurred background to produce a bokeh kind of effect – a slightly different but similar one was present in one of the references as well. Used charcoal for deep black in background. Details were rendered to produce a thin depth of field.
I was happy that my friend really liked it, even though it took me 2 years to complete the work 🙂
