Biography

“Nisanth has been drawing and painting since he could hold a pencil or brush. It has been an inevitable tool for him, as that’s the way he expresses and communicates his deepest emotions. Nisanth’s paintings generally evoke the emotion/feeling in the viewer, that the artist was going through when he painted them, and that communication is lost if the painting is attempted to be described in words of spoken languages.
Nisanth was born to Gopi Kalampully and Radha Mathilakath Padinharepatt in 1984, in Kerala in India. His full name is Nisanth Mathilakath Padinharepatt. He had his training in drawing and painting from artist Sekhar Ayyanthole, from 1993 to 1999. He uses media like graphite, charcoal, water color, oil paint and acrylic paint. He also creates realistic portraits upon request, based on availability of his time. He occasionally draws cartoons as a means to voice his opinion or as a commentary on political and social issues of the time. Nisanth has exhibited his paintings at galleries like Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad, Bangalore. He has won many prizes including 2nd
prize in Kerala State youth festival. He has a BTech degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from National Institute of Technology Calicut. He is currently an engineer with Intel Technologies, working on deep learning R&D, and is based out of Bangalore, India. He is married and has a 2 year old daughter. He regularly cooks delicious (?) food for his daughter. Nisanth has a sister who works in software industry.
The current series that Nisanth is doing consists of small size acrylic paintings on canvas using palette knives. They are recollections of visuals and emotions from specific points in time, present and past, that are nostalgic to him.”
